K-II EMF Meter for Ghost Hunting

K-II EMF Meter for Ghost Hunting

A built in flashlight at no extra charge. Electromagnetic fields, or EMFs, are emitted by electrical devices of all types. EMFs are everywhere, originating from appliances, cell phones, electrical wiring, and even the human body. The K-II EMF Meter helps measure these fields to identify appliances that produce high-level emissions, allowing users to make informed decisions about limiting exposure. EMF fluctuations have also been associated with locations where unexplained phenomena have been reported, including alleged hauntings. The K-II operates on a single 9V battery, and reports EMF measurements in five milliGauss ranges. Please note: this product is intended to measure electric fields, and does not detect nuclear radiation.Instantaneous response to EMF fluctuations & spikesSimple push-on/push-off operationEasy-to-read multi-segment LED displayAccuracy of 5% at 50-60 HzDetects ELF range (50 to 1,000 Hz) & VLF range (1,000 to 20,000 Hz)

NYC - National Museum of the American Indian - Whale Hunt Painted Screen

Painted curtain representating the whale hunt, post-1870
Paint on cotton cloth

The Nuu-chah-nulth (also formerly referred to as the Nootka, Nutka, Aht, Nuuchahnulth) people, a term used to describe fiteen separate but related Indigenous peoples in Canada's Pacific Northwest, have hunted for whales for thousands of years.

Painted screens are used as backdrops for ceremonies. Early screens were made of wood. When Canada outlawed the potlach (ceremonies aimed at distributing wealth by endowing gifts upon guests) in 1884, Nuu-chah-nulth people began to paint on cotton fabric, allowing screens to be folded up and concealed from non-Native eyes.

In the upper right of this screen, a canoe of hunters vies with a Thunderbird for a prized whale. In the central panel, two canoes of animated whalers cooperate in the hunt. The bottom panel shows a harpooned humpback whale towing three canoes, their crews, and their equipment, including sealskin floats.

Opened in October 1994, the George Gustav Heye Center of the National Museum of the American Indian, at the historic Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House in lower Manhattan, serves as the National Museum of the American Indian's exhibition and education facility in New York City. Permanent and temporary exhibitions, as well as a range of public programs?including music and dance performances, films, and symposia?explore the diversity of the Native people of the Americas and the strength and continuity of their cultures from the earliest times to the present.

Within the Heye Center, the Resource Center orients visitors to the museum's offerings, and provides visitors with the opportunity to use the latest computer technology to learn more about Native life and history. In addition, online technology links the museum and Native communities throughout the Western Hemisphere.
